Dr. Axel Berkofsky (Projects Asian Markets)
Dr. Axel Berkofsky, Dr. Axel Berkofsky is Senior Policy Analyst with the Brussels-based European Policy Centre (EPC). At the EPC, he is running the newly established EU-Asia work programme. Axel Berkofsky studied Japanese Studies and Political Sciences in Marburg, Tokyo and Hamburg and earned his PhD. from Hamburg University in December 2002.
Dr. Berkofsky has lived and worked three years in Japan working as freelance journalist for the Asahi Evening News and Research Associate for the German Institute for Japanese Studies (DIJ). Dr. Berkofsky also worked as consultant and advisor for German and European companies in Japan. As Canon Foundation Research Fellow in Japan, he conducted research for his PhD. dissertation on the U.S.-Japan security alliance. Dr. Berkofsky has published numerous articles and essays on Japanese and East Asian politics, economics and security for various newspapers and magazines in Europe and Asia. He also is a regular contributor to the Hong Kong-based Asia Times.
Before joining the EPC in July 2003, Dr. Berkofsky worked as Research Fellow/Policy Analyst at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) in Brussels.
Duncan Chapple (Corporate Finance, Projects)
Duncan Chapple is director at Lighthouse and chair of the advisory board. Chapple leads the firm's investor- and analyst-relations business. He is one of the leading experts worldwide in helping firms to develop their relationships with analysts. Before entering the corporate communications industry in 2000, Chapple was a market analyst at Ovum, consulting to a number of investment banks and management consultancies on due diligence projects and technology investments.
Duncan has an MBA from London Business School, where he studied corporate finance, and an MSc in business analysis from City University. He has taken advanced courses in private equity and corporate finance at the graduate business schools of UCLA and Dartmouth College in the United States and through Deloitte's Alumni Development Programme. He is an assembly member of Theseus, the international management institute that Lighthouse sponsors.
Richard Hui (Projects)
Richard Hui is the CEO of Cyber Business Network, a member of Hanny Holdings, a HK listed company (HKSE: 0275), the Managing Director of International Travel Systems Inc, His past experiences included co-founder, President and CTO of Pacificnet Inc. (NASDAQ: PACT), co-founder and Director for IT School Ltd, TelantSoft Inc, and V2 Technology Ltd, Director of the Board and Technology Advisor to Fortune Telecom Holdings (HKSE: 110), China's leading mobile phone distributor and retailer. Mr. Hui completed his studies in Computer Science and Mathametics from the University of Minnesota, USA.

David joined this advisory firm from one of the
world's biggest conglomerates, where he served as CIO
of a medium-sized, wholly-owned subsidiary. Before
that, David was business unit manager at one of
Europe's largest telecommunications companies, where
he was instrumental in developing sales in a new
office. His experience also includes leadership
positions at management consulting firms and IT
service providers.
David holds an MBA with highest honors from
Theseus-EDHEC Business School (France) in cooperation
with the Anderson School at UCLA. He also received
Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Sciences and Economics
from the University of Texas at Austin.
David is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
